Support, Data & Account Deletion
Find support, export or erase local records, and delete an optional Protocol account and its encrypted backups.
Get support
In Protocol, open Settings > Feedback & Support to report a bug, ask a product or privacy question, or attach optional diagnostics. If you cannot use the app, submit the private Support & Privacy Request form on this page. Review all text and attachments before sending; do not send passwords, recovery keys, full medical records, or information that is not needed to resolve the request.
Support does not provide medical advice and is not monitored as an emergency service. For urgent health concerns, contact local emergency services or an appropriate licensed professional.
Export or erase local data
Use Settings > Data Export to create JSON or CSV copies. Exported files are unencrypted after creation and remain under the control of the destination you select.
Use Settings > Delete Local Data > Wipe All Local Data to erase supported local app records and return most local settings to defaults. This action cannot be undone. It intentionally retains the legal-document acceptance revision recorded for this installation, and it does not delete encrypted backups associated with an optional Protocol account. Uninstalling the app normally removes its local container, subject to iOS behavior.
Delete an account and encrypted backups
If you created a Protocol account, open Settings > Account & Backup and use Delete Account. After confirmation, Protocol is designed to delete the account's encrypted backup objects, backup metadata, and authentication user record. Keep any export you need before deletion; encrypted objects cannot be restored after they are deleted.
If you cannot access the app, submit the private Support & Privacy Request form on this page and identify the email address or Sign in with Apple account used for Protocol. We may require identity verification before processing a request. Never provide your recovery key.
Privacy and legal documents
The Privacy Policy explains information handling and request rights. The Health & Safety Disclaimer explains the limits of Protocol's organizational and arithmetic features. The Terms of Use govern access to the app and services. The current versions are linked below and are also available in Protocol under Settings > Legal & Privacy.
